Nag Tibba is at an elevation of 3,022 metres (9,915 ft) the highest peak in the lower Himalayan region of Uttarakhand. Nag Tibba is not the only name of the summit. Also, there is a temple of “Nag Dev”(the God of Snakes) on the way to the summit.
It was my first day at Pantwari village, Uttarakhand after an overnight journey from Gurgaon. I reached there in the early morning and a shop was open at around 5 am. People in the village are very kind and helpful. That shop keeper helped us to find a place to stay for a couple of hours. Also, arranged a guide for the trek.
We started our trek after a power nap and breakfast. Though the distance of base camp from the Pantwari village is around 3 Km only. We decided to go slow while enjoying nature, and, stay at base camp for the night.
Luckily clouds helped us to move forward fast. we took around 1.5 hours to reach the base camp.
In the picture below, I was getting excited after looking at the summit in front of me. The snow was shining over the green trees and the view was spectacular.
We reached base camp at lunchtime and our guide arranged a place where we could pitch our tent. We met an Amma(old lady) there, who cooked rice and daal for us. The meal was delicious enough to send us for a power nap…(To be continued)
